Florida  Shrine Clown Association
2000 Competition Results (Held at Bahia Temple on May 3-6, 2000)

FSCA Immediate Past President Roy E. Turner
provided this report on
Florida Shrine Clown Association's activities:

The Florida Shrine Clown Association (FSCA) held it's 23rd Annual Election and Competition at Orlando, Florida, on 3-6 May 2000. The new FSCA Officers are President Noble Mel Saunders, Morocco; First VP Noble Richard Sheets, Amara; Second VP Noble Sam Hughes Jr., Araba; Third VP Noble Richard Joy, Amara. The Installing Officer was Potentate Art "Charlie" Doss of Morocco. The Bahia Clown Unit was the host this year.

The results of the competition appear below. During the competition, one of the units made an error and threw a large amount of flour on a large uncovered area of carpet (see photo at bottom of this page). Realizing that they would not be able to clean the area in the correct amount of time, the unit continued on with the skit and had everyone doubled up with laughter. They had FUN. It took a while to clean up the floor and to get all the smoke and dust out of the competition room. Noble George Barfield was very helpful in cleaning the floor by operating a large vacuum, picture attached. The judges felt that he did such a great job that they gave him a perfect score. At the awards banquet a special award was presented to George for his outstanding achievement.

The Red Sneaker was passed and $185.41 was collected from members present at the banquet. The next FSCA convention will be held on 3-6 May 2001 at Miami, Florida.
